The Conduct and Assurance Lead will monitor and report on the effectiveness and compliance with our key legislative and regulatory obligations and application of related policies, processes, systems and controls across our distribution channels. Partnering with the business they will lead, maintain, and continuously improve a first-line assurance programme designed to effectively monitor and manage our first line risk.

They will directly support the Head of Conduct to provide Senior Leadership (SLT) and Board with oversight and monitoring of key conduct performance metrics and assurance activities to provide them with confidence in our ability to pro-actively identify potential conduct related issues and put in place actions to improve or remediate these efficiently and effectively.

By promoting and role-modelling a customer-first mindset and compliance by design approach across the business, they will play a pivotal role in embedding and maintaining our commitment to #BankBetter for New Zealanders and the fair treatment of our customers.

You’ll bring the following experience to the table:

  • Experience across compliance, conduct, or assurance - ideally within financial services.
  • Strong grasp of conduct risk and the three lines of defence model, with an analytical eye for turning data into action.
  • Natural collaborator and influencer who is skilled in stakeholder engagement and passionate about doing what’s right for customers
